Soldados del 193.º Escuadrón de Lanzamisiles Múltiples (M.PEP.) en Eleutheroupoli, en la ciudad de Kavala, con una carta unen sus voces con el movimiento popular y exigen que Grecia no participe en el ataque contra Siria, como planifican en los Estados Unidos.
La carta dice:
“Somos soldados del 193.º M.PEP y estamos viendo con horror el nuevo crimen que se está preparando contra el pueblo sirio. Con el pretexto de uso de armas químicas (mientras que según la evidencia que ha salido a la luz es obvio que las llamadas fuerzas contra el régimen son las que utilizan peligrosos productos químicos), los EE.UU y la UE están preparando un nuevo ataque con el objetivo de tomar control de los recursos naturales de la región y las rutas de transporte de petróleo.
Sabemos muy bien que no se han preocupado nunca por los derechos humanos y la paz, al contrario, cada vez que les conviene los pisotean. Es exactamente la misma excusa que usaron hace unos años para masacrar al pueblo de Irak.
Los soldados griegos tenemos que defender las fronteras de nuestro país. Cualquier participación directa o indirecta de Grecia en esta guerra pone en peligro nuestro país, los derechos soberanos del pueblo y la defensa.
Como hijos del pueblo griego unimos nuestras voces con el movimiento popular y exigimos:
Ninguna implicación, ninguna participación de Grecia en la intervención imperialista en Siria que está siendo planeada.
Que se cierre ya la base de Souda
Ninguna facilidad a EE.UU. - OTAN - UE en cuanto a infraestructuras o recursos humanos contra Siria o cualquier otro país de la región.
Junto con el pueblo decimos no a la guerra y a la participación de Grecia en esta.

“We are soldiers of the 193rd Squadron of Multiple Missile Launchers and we are watching in horror the new crime that is being prepared at the expense the Syrian people. Under the pretext of the use of chemical weapons (whereas according to evidence that has come to light it is obvious that dangerous chemicals are being used by the so called anti-regime forces), the USA and the EU are preparing a new attack, aiming to take control of the natural wealth of the region and the oil transport routes.
We know very well that they have never cared about human rights and peace, on the contrary they trampled on them whenever it was convenient for them. They use exactly the same excuse as they did a few years ago in order to massacre the people of Iraq.
As Greek soldiers we have the duty to defend our country’s borders. Any participation, direct or indirect, threatens our country as well as the people’s sovereignty and defense.
As the children of the Greek people we make common cause with the people’s movement and we demand:
No involvement, no participation of Greece in the imperialist intervention in Syria which is being planned.
That the base in Suda be closed now..
That no facilities given to the USA.-NATO-EE, neither infrastructure nor man power against Syria or any other country of the region.
Along with the people we say no to the war and to the participation of Greece in it.

Военнослужащие 193-й ракетно-артиллерийской бригады города Елефтеропули района Кавалы в своем письме потребовали отказа от участия Греции в запланированной империалистической интервенции в Сирию, тем самым присоединяя свой голос протеста к голосу народного движения.
Полный текст письма:
«Мы- военнослужащие 193-й ракетно-артиллерийской бригады с ужасом наблюдаем как готовится новое преступление против сирийского народа. Под предлогом использования химического оружия (которое, согласно опубликованным материалам, было применено так называемыми антиправительственными силами) США и ЕС готовят новую агрессию с целью прибрать к рукам природные богатства региона и пути поставок нефти.
Мы хорошо знаем, что они никогда не заботились о правах человека и мире, напротив, всякий раз, когда им это было нужно, они их попирали. Точно такое же оправдание они использовали несколько лет тому назад, для того, чтобы совершить то же самое и вызвать кровопролитие народа Ирака. Долг греческих военнослужащих - защищать границы нашей страны. Любое участие -прямое или косвенное- Греции в войне ставит под угрозу нашу страну, суверенные права народа и оборону.
Будучи детьми греческого народа, мы присоединяем наш голос к голосу народного движения и требуем:
Никакого вмешательства, никакого участия Греции в запланированной империалистической интервенции в Сирию.
Немедленного закрытия военной базы в Суда.
Никакой помощи США-НАТО-ЕС, не предоставлять ни инфраструктуру, ни человеческий потенциал против Сирии или любой другой страны в регионе.
Вместе с народом говорим «Нет войне и участию в ней Греции».
