Las autoridades sirias han descubierto un arsenal de armas químicas en unos túneles cerca de Damasco, según la televisión estatal, citada por Reuters.
Este mismo medio señala que el armamento se encontraba en un lugar ocupado por los rebeldes. Al parecer, varios soldados gubernamentales han sufrido episodios de asfixia al acercarse a las municiones.
En el reportaje se precisa que en las barricas de sustancias tóxicas podía leerse “Fabricado en Arabia Saudita“. Además, en los túneles había también antídotos para el tratamiento de intoxicaciones. Dichos medicamentos son productos de una “empresa farmacéutica alemana-catarí”.
Los militares que hicieron el descubrimiento estaban investigando el terreno como parte de los preparativos para una ofensiva contra los grupos rebeldes en la localidad de Jobar.
No es la primera vez que las fuerzas gubernamentales hallan depósitos con sustancias tóxicas que supuestamente pertenecen a los insurgentes. Por ejemplo, el pasado mes de julio, las autoridades sirias encontraron dos grandes almacenes con una gran cantidad de productos químicos peligrosos.
A finales de mayo, 12 presuntos miembros del grupo islamista radical sirio Frente al-Nusra, vinculado con al-Qaeda y presente en Siria, fueron detenidos en Turquía en posesión de dos kilogramos de gas sarín y de varias armas.
Algunas voces de la diplomacia internacional han vuelto a poner sobre la mesa la posibilidad de intervenir en Siria después de que activistas de la oposición informaran el miércoles de un ataque con armas químicas cerca de la capital, que presuntamente podría haber ocasionado unas 1.300 víctimas mortales en Jobar y dos pueblos más.
Sin embargo, hasta el momento no se ha podido comprobar la veracidad de esas informaciones. De hecho, numerosos expertos consideran inverosímil que el Gobierno sirio haya usado armas químicas cuando los investigadores de la ONU acaban de llegar al país.
El presidente de EE. UU., Barack Obama, tiene prevista una reunión urgente con altos cargos de seguridad este sábado, 24 de agosto, para discutir los siguientes pasos que ha de dar Washington en el conflicto sirio.
La Casa Blanca indica que aún está esperando la confirmación del presunto uso de armas químicas en Siria, y si la obtiene, Obama tomará una decisión en consecuencia.

English, Israeli and US populations have nothing to do with their secret services who work exclusively for the Zionists and not for the sake of their own Countries.
The next World War of Religion is already a done deal behind the backs of all people which will be forced to fight for their own Countries in their obligation as citizens.
