Saludamos la decisión del presidente electo Ollanta Humala de superar la política de cuerdas separadas en la relación con Chile. En esa nueva línea de dirección y con referencia a la cuestión del gas, nuestro Grupo estima que para tal efecto debe tenerse en cuenta lo siguiente:
1. Asegurar el abastecimiento interno con un horizonte permanente de 20 años, antes de considerar cualquier exportación.
2. Por consiguiente formalizar el compromiso de exclusividad del lote 88 para el consumo interno.
3. En su momento, no llegar a exportar gas natural, sino bienes derivados de su valor agregado tales como electricidad y productos petroquímicos.
4. Acordar la venta del gas con valor agregado o productos petroquímicos, a quien nos otorgue la mayor ventaja económica, sin descuidar la implicancia política.
5. La eventualidad de cualquier operación comercial con Chile relativa al gas, debe ser evaluada con posterioridad al cumplimiento por Chile del fallo del Tribunal de la Haya.
6. Como ya lo expresamos el 7 de Agosto del 2009, el buen uso del recurso gasífero constituye una herramienta de primer orden para el desarrollo del Perú y la afirmación de nuestra soberanía nacional.
